Rude Manager Told Me “None of Your Business!” – My Terrible Experience at Arudhra Residency, Chidambaram.
Arudhra Residency Lodge in Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu: It is now 11:51 PM on February 14, 2026. I am very sad and upset after staying at this lodge named “Arudhra Residency” in Chidambaram. I faced extremely bad and misbehaving customer service from the front office staff! 📢 I will explain the issue clearly below. Please read it first, and then decide whether you should book rooms here.
My story:

I am Sathish Mahalingam, and I live in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu. Today, my younger sister’s marriage function was held at “SRI KRISHNA GRAND MAHAL” in Chidambaram. So, my family (around 15 people) needed rooms to stay. Fortunately, my sister’s father-in-law booked about 10 rooms for us at Arudhra Residency. Everything was fine at first.
Unfortunately, some family members did not come, so 3 rooms remained unoccupied.
I went to the front office and politely asked the manager:
“Hello, sir, one of my family members booked 10 rooms here, but now 3 rooms are unused—no one is staying in them. If these 3 rooms remain empty until the end of the day (24 hours), will you still charge us for them?”
(From what I know and saw in Google reviews, the rent here is around ₹2050 for 12 or 24 hours—I’m not entirely sure about the exact policy.) I was thinking that if no one uses those 3 rooms, we would waste ₹6150 in just 12–15 hours. That’s why I asked the question.
I asked this very humbly, but the man replied in a very harsh tone: “This is none of your business!” — right in front of 4–5 other people at the front office. I felt very upset and humiliated, but I tried to control myself and not lose my composure. 😡 I responded with some strong words, but I don’t usually behave that way.
My kind advice: Please avoid “Arudhra Residency Lodge” for your peaceful travel or family trips.
Other issues I faced:

- Some ground-floor rooms are not clean and have bad smells.
- The bathing water has a yellowish shade in all rooms.
- Room service staff behave violently, show no respect to customers, and seem to support the management’s rude attitude.
This is not an article—this is my real, personal experience at “Arudhra Residency”. Please think twice (or thrice) before booking rooms here. Don’t waste your energy and happiness.

Also, the staff claims free WiFi is available, but you cannot use it. The WiFi password they gave me didn’t work. When I tried to connect, the network asked for a username too—but the lady only provided the password, nothing else.
