Step 3: Get Hosting.
You now have a great domain name. But that alone is not enough to create a website!
Think of it like this: If the domain name is the address of your house, hosting is the actual house where everything lives. Just like you need a mobile phone to install an app, you need hosting to make your website live and accessible on the internet.
You will need to spend a small amount of money every year on hosting.
Why should you buy proper hosting for your website?
When you use good hosting, your website will load faster. For example, when readers open your posts, they will load in just a few seconds, and Google AdSense ads will appear quickly to your audience.
Why did you start blogging? To make money! Keep in mind how much effort you’re putting in.
What will your situation be if you don’t earn a good income from blogging despite all your hard work? Think about it!
Here’s the important point: If you get Google AdSense approval but use free hosting like Blogspot (provided by Google) or free WordPress.com, your income will usually be very low, no matter how many readers you have.
The reason: Free hosting only supports your readers to a limited extent, and all Google AdSense ads can take 15–20 seconds to load on your website. This seriously affects your revenue.

There is no doubt that both Hostinger and GoDaddy are good hosting companies — many people still use them successfully. The reason I switched to Bluehost is that my website traffic grew significantly.

It is cheaper (compared to GoDaddy and Bluehost) and very easy for beginners to use. As your readership grows, you can later move to Bluehost, and they will help you with the migration.
Transferring hosting from one company to another is as easy as transferring a domain name.

A great real-life example is my friend Mr. Ravi. A few weeks ago, he told me, “I’m thinking of building a website, but I don’t even have $10 right now.” I said, “OK, Ravi — Hostinger is offering second generic domains for $1.01. Buy one and start your blogging part-time.”
He bought a .xyz domain name for $1.01 + GST. (The domain name is homecarrier.xyz — you can check it!)
His total investment was just $1, and he used Google’s free Blogspot hosting. He didn’t need to spend any more money on the website!
Even with just hard work, he developed that website for 4–5 months, gained great readership, and eventually got compulsory AdSense approval from Google.

Step 4: Choose the Theme That Best Suits Your Website’s Ideas.
The theme of your website is just as important as your domain name for its overall success.
What if you share amazing and useful ideas, but the text looks confusing, cluttered, or irritating because of a bad theme? Will your readers come back to visit again? Of course not!

Step 5: Install Your Theme.
Most of the themes I recommended above are available for free. Sometimes even big companies offer their premium themes to customers at no cost — I will let you know if any such offers are announced.
A great example is the company MyThemeShop.com. They currently offer 54 WordPress themes and plugins for free to their customers — and the good news is that you can also take advantage of this offer.
My little advice: If possible, download and save all 54 themes and plugins they provide. Each of these WordPress themes normally costs at least $50. If you cannot afford to buy them individually, this is a fantastic opportunity to take advantage of their offer!
Step 6: Change Your Permalinks Settings.
If you started your website with free hosting from Google’s Blogger (Blogspot), your article URLs (permalinks) will include the date and month.
Here’s something important to understand: Google does not give priority to dates in article links (permalinks). It focuses on the words instead. Therefore, you must ensure that your article URLs do not contain numbers (like dates).
That’s why, before publishing your first article, go to WordPress → Settings → Permalinks and select the “Post name” option.
Note: Permalinks are one of the most important elements for the growth of your website.
For example, you can include the main keyword of your post in the permalink. Also, make sure your article permalinks are SEO-friendly (always try to use low-competition keywords in your permalinks).
Be careful — as I mentioned earlier, never use numbers in your blog post permalinks.
For example, if you are writing an article titled “15 Best Free WordPress Themes,” your article permalink should be:
https://wealthonbudget.com/best-free-wordpress-themes.
Now let’s move on to the next step. In my next post, I will show you how to write a great article with proper on-page and off-page SEO (this post will be very helpful for complete beginners).
You can change anything in your published articles — text, images, internal links, outbound links, etc. — but never change the permalink after publishing. Now you understand how important permalinks are. You create an article permalink only once, so focus on it carefully before you start writing the article.
Google understands what your website is about through the permalinks of your articles.
Step 7: Set Up Your E-Mail.
This email marketing method will be very helpful for you to increase the readership of your website. You can use cold emailing to send 5,000+ emails a day on behalf of your website. If you use a mail ID with addresses like @yahoo.com or @gmail.com for this, will your readers prioritize your emails?
Or will they ignore them? Think about it yourself!
That’s why I recommend spending $1 or $2 a year on GoDaddy to get a premium email address. For example, buy something like call@truehomeoccupations.com – it will build trust and credibility among your website’s readers.

Write articles for your website, keeping in mind what kind of information you would expect from a website. Pay close attention to how your ideas differ from those on other websites and whether they answer innovative or stylistic questions (whether we answer them correctly).
How does your website gain individuality and uniqueness if you just say the same ideas as other websites in a different way? If you want to succeed in blogging, then you definitely need to follow a style that suits you. It’s great if it’s useful to your readers.

If a website has 8-10 posts, readers will open 2 or 3 posts and see what is in them, even if they haven’t read all 10 posts. This will increase the number of visits to your website and stimulate reader interest.
Even if a website is domain-connected (2 or 3 years old), it will easily get Google AdSense approval (including the free Google domain yourdomain.blogspot.com).
But at present, the number of people writing articles has increased more than the number of people reading articles online. Understand how much hard work you have to put into your website if you want to get AdSense approval in such a competitive environment.
OK, so you can get AdSense approval even in this situation. What do you do for a living? First, you need to create pages like Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, About, Contact, Terms and Conditions on your website. Then write 40 to 45 posts of 800+ words each and share them at the rate of one article per day (make sure your posts are useful).
Don’t forget to register your website in Google Search Console and Google Analytics. This will allow you to track the number of readers who visit your website through Google. Register your website’s article permalinks in Google Search Console so they will appear in Google search.
Only then will organic traffic come to your website. If you even share good ideas in just 5 to 6.5 lines like pillar content to readers, how will they read your posts in full? They will scroll through your article with annoyance.
To avoid this, you should make sure that no paragraph in your article exceeds 3 lines.
Most people in this world use Android & iOS phones more than computers & laptops. Make sure your articles are set up accordingly (mobile-friendly).
It does not matter how many posts a website publishes if it is to succeed among the people. Even if you only share 1 post on your website, do not look at the number of articles – give priority only to the quality embedded in them. This is exactly what your readers will expect from you.
